Snow! Qualmie Pass, New Years Eve 2010

The last few days of 2010 brought cold, blower pow to the Snoqualmie Pass area and sunshine followed.   It was a great end to 2010 with skiing the deeps at Dumpental, then getting many first tracks in the blue sky winter wonderland.  NYE brought continued sunshine and cold so a good tour was in order.  Touring solo is an exercise in playing it safe so I brought my camera and went into cruise mode.

I found a great new area to explore when we get about 5 more feet of snow.   For now, its just big rocks but it will soon be sweet pillows!

I’ve also included some sunrise photos of Alpental and Gold Creek.  It was a balmy 10 degrees so the pastels of winter were especially nice.  Tomorrow Seattle returns to the grey blanket and wet so enjoy the sun while it lasts!  EE
