So I went up to Alpental to find some sunshine in the inversion going on.
I found some the first day and unfortunately the snow did’t get any softer. Tuesday was the worst skiing I’ve ever had in Washington as it was ice with only one run groomed. I made one run and hung out with Logan the rest of the day. Wednesday brought more sun and wome soft corn up top. It was 50 and sunny at the top and the views were beautiful. It is rare to have sunshine and warm temps in mid January! I managed to get over to Hyak to see the avalanche up close. It is a disaster over there and the cats were busy pushing around the snow, trees, and rocks.
Hopefully the snow returns soon because the skiing can’t get any worse.
