Alpental February 2009
Here is my update for February:
I haven’t been blogging much lately and I’m starting to fall behind. February brought more snow since the January snow machine took the month off. There were some days of inversions at snoqualmie pass which is great for skiing the backcountry at Alpental. You can see on the most beautiful part! February also brought fairy warm temps which made from some typical northwest snow.
I took Logan out for a tour with a guy named Joel that I met in the parking lot while drinking beer. Don’t worry, the tour was the day after. It was a beautiful sunny day with about 6-12 inches of fluff on crust so Logan could run and get faceshots. We toured up to Source Lake, then to Pineapple Pass. We sat and had a beer and Logan took a nap while we gazed at the Cascades and beyond to Mt. Rainier. Time to ski, so we turned around and got face-shots all the way down since the snow was blower and smooth underneath. Logan had SOOOO much snow on her and she was so happy about it! Great day.
I also went searching for Ninjas in the backcountry and saw a few in the fog one day. I have some photos too! I found their lair with much effort and only hung out long enough to get a few photos. If you are in a Ninja’s house when he comes home……slice, thump.
