My Dream Job…
I’m sure everyone has a dream job that you’d do if you aren’t already. For me, its a snowplow driver. Not the kind that plows Grandma’s driveway, but the kind that clears mountain passes.
I’m in love with snowplows and I think its awesome to see them in action. One place in particular that fascinates me is the North Cascades Highway SR 20 in Washington.
It doesn’t get quite as much snow as other locations in Washington but it is high, inaccessible during the winter, rugged and stunningly beautiful!
Each year the WADOT clears and opens SR 20, the North Cascades Highway, around March, April or May. Historical opening and closing dates can be found here. You can also follow WADOT on Flickr as they work their ways up from the east and west. Enjoy the photos and next time you see a plow driver as your heading up to shred, tip your soda at him!
