1:1 Part 3

One great asset of Instagram for photography is how it forces the photographer to show an image that says or does something in a small and simple way.  With very little space to work with, you’re forced to eliminate unnecessary elements and simplify your image.  Framing and composition often play huge roles in accomplishing this.  Unique lighting always stands out in an image so finding ways to capture it effectively also helps.  Lastly, creating a depth or sense of motion in a small 1:1 image can be difficult but it can be done.

To summarize: eliminate unnecessary elements, simplify, composition, framing, lighting, depth and motion.  Are we still talking about small photos on Instagram?
